Sasha Waltz zum morgigen Welttanztag

Morgen am 29. April, dem Geburtstag von Jean-Georges Noverre, wird der Internationale Tag des Tanzes begangen. Dazu gibt die Unesco wie jedes Jahr eine Botschaft heraus, dieses Jahr stammt sie von der Berliner Choreografin Sasha Waltz: Es wird getanzt zu Geburtstagen, Hochzeiten, auf der Straße, in den Wohnzimmern, auf der Bühne, hinter den Kulissen. Als Ausdruck der Freude, der Trauer, als Ritual und Grenzerfahrung. Der Tanz ist eine Weltsprache; Botschafter für eine friedliche Welt, für Gleichheit, Toleranz und Mitgefühl. Der Tanz lehrt uns Empfindsamkeit, Bewusstsein und Achtsamkeit für den Augenblick. Tanz ist Ausdruck unserer Lebendigkeit. Tanz ist Transformation. Der Tanz verortet unsere Seele, Tanz gibt dem Körper eine geistige Dimension. Tanz lässt uns den Körper fühlen, über ihn hinauswachsen, aus dem Körper heraustreten, ein anderer Körper sein. To dance is to participate actively in the vibration of the universe. Dance locates the soul, dance affords the body a spiritual dimension. Dance enables us to feel our body, to rise above, to go beyond, to be another body.
